Episode 02: Perfectionism is making you your Own Personal Punching Bag

More often than not, we find ourselves consumed with this idea or goal to be “healed” or embark on a life-changing, transformational spiritual journey right here right now. This ideology that there is an “end” goal to your spiritual journey or that in order to be “healed” you must be on a straight shot path to success, is a fallacy that not only keeps us from improving our habits and thoughts but also hinders our ability to get up and actually practice what’s preached.

This episode discusses “spiritual perfectionism” and how it may be preventing you from actually witnessing any growth. We don’t need to be reading 100+ self-help books a day to achieve emotional stability, we just need to be more aware of what we are allowing and not allowing our thoughts to do.

Any spiritual self-help book will tell you that negative thoughts create negative things… but what they won’t tell you is that your attention to the negative thoughts that are already present, is what may actually be causing the negativity in your life.

This is why it is important to shift the narrative around the way we see emotions, as they are here to help us and we can use them to create a healthier internal environment although it may not appear that way initially.

The attention you place on your lack of perfection may be stifling your growth…so embrace the IMperfection.
